At the core of the color-enabled imageRUNNER C5058 is Canon’s Color imagePlatform architecture. This foundation has power to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and the unique ability to distribute information across a dynamic digital landscape. The imageRUNNER C5058 offers 58 letter pages per minute (ppm) black-and-white output speed, and 16 ppm color output. The standard 4,200-sheet capacity can easily be upgraded to support a voluminous 7,700-sheet feeder through a maximum of 6 paper sources. Moreover, the system can accommodate tab paper, stocks as large as 13" x 19" and paperweights up to 140lb. Index.
The imageRUNNER C5058 is based on a dual 250 MHz processor design, 768MB RAM, and an 80GB hard disk as standard equipment. With support for 600 x 600 dpi scanning resolution and up to 2400 x 600 equivalent dpi printing resolution, the systems ensure images are sharp, gradation is smooth, and characters are crisp. Standard Universal Send ™ enables standard scan to email and file.
The imageRUNNER C5058 offers two print controller options, Canon's Color UFRII/PCL5c/PCL6 with optional PCL Printer Kit-Z1 or the imagePASS-G1, co-engineered by Canon in partnership with EFI. The Color UFRII/PCL5c/PCL6 with optional PCL Printer Kit-Z1 enables color-printing capabilities with support for PCL 5c and PostScript®3™ Emulation, and Ultra Fast Rendering (UFR), the new proprietary technology, which uses a recently invented printing algorithm to minimize file-processing time. For higher bandwidth printing requirements, the imagePASS-G1 features its own hardware dedicated to printing applications, and supports genuine Adobe® PostScript 3 and PCL 5c emulation.
The Mail Box function can be used to store hard-copy-based originals as well as print data such as presentations, proposals, and spreadsheets. Once stored in the Mail Box, documents may be combined and printed as one job with the desired settings or sent to other destinations.
