The imageRUNNER 5050 incorporates vast memory capacity at 1GB RAM and a 40GB hard disk drive that provide the virtual space to support multiple users and workflows in busy departments. 600 x 600-dpi scanning and Canon’s image technology delivers every page with superb image quality at resolutions up to 1200 x 600 dpi.  

The imageRUNNER 5050 is built on a solid frame to withstand the heavy workload of busy production environments.  Canon’s IH (Induction Heating) Fusing technology helps reduce energy consumption and ensure near-instant system readiness.  Long-lasting supplies and consumables deliver minimal maintenance and maximum uptime.

For more advanced document distribution needs, add the optional Universal Send™ kit to the imageRUNNER 5050 push digital documents to any destination—e-mail, fax, internet fax, local Mail Boxes, network folders, and document management systems.

A choice of two print controllers ensures that the imageRUNNER 5050 devices are ready to tackle any printing task. Activate the UFRII/PCL/PS Printer Kit-R2 to allow authorized users to share the imageRUNNER 5050 device as a network printer.  This embedded print controller supports PCL5e/6 and PostScript® 3TM emulation with intuitive drivers. 

The optional external print controller, the imagePASS-S2 delivers genuine Adobe® PostScript 3 along with PCL 5e/6 support to meet the demands of higher-bandwidth printing needs plus access to advanced options such as Hot Folders and Virtual Printers, Command Workstation ®, and EFI® Impose to manage complex workflows with automated job queuing.

The imageRUNNER 5050 offers advanced document insertion and finishing capabilities that enable the in-house production of sales reports, proposals with covers, heavy stock catalogs, brochures, employee handbooks and more with optional such as Saddle-Stitched Booklets, Z-Folding unit, C-Folding unit, and Three-Hole Punching features.
